Yvonne Cobbs
Yvonne Cobbs, BSN, MSN, and Gospel Soloist an active and consistent force at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor A. L. Cobbs, Sr. She guides the Youth Ministry, Health Ministry and Directs the Choirs. Yvonne has a special anointing in the ministries of medicine and music and lives her life accordingly. Yvonne holds the 1999 Director of the Year Award, and has been featured as singer and songwriter on many productions spanning a decade. Among her many accomplishments in 2007; Yvonne was nominated by the En Sound Music Awards for Best Traditional Gospel Performance. Disc Makers’ Independent Music World Series selected Yvonne as one of the top 15 artists out of 1,300 bands and artists on the West Coast. Yvonne was selected by BET’s on-line community and did participate in BET’s “Sunday Best” reality television show (Host: Kirk Franklin; Judges: Mary Mary and Be Be Winans). 2011 iPOP, Yvonne brought home 1st runner up singer of the year, 1st runner up monologue, 2nd runner up TV Commercial, and 2nd runner up Actor of the year. She has also inspired crowds throughout the continental USA, Mexico, The Bahamas, and Alaska. She has sang background for the following: Kirk Franklin, LaShaun Pace, Lady Tremaine Hawkins, Maurette Brown-Clark, Ce Ce Winans, and Donald Lawrence.
In addition, to singing, directing, and writing songs Yvonne has performed in the live stage play “Black Nativity” with the Lorraine Hansberry Theater, San Francisco’s 2001-2009; Mahailah: A Gospel Musical 2010; Tambourines to Glory (Black Repertory Group Theater) bringing a professionalism, dedication, and determination for excellence that is only equaled by her commitment to Christ. Yvonne has demonstrated her ability as featured artist, performing artist, assistant music director, and music director.
Yvonne’s music projects are a unique gospel experience that harmoniously blends traditional and contemporary sounds into her soul filled expression of the gospel with a voice of power and authority in praise and worship to God.
Yvonne has produced four (4) CD projects “God’s Always There” 2005; “Stand Still” 2006; her third CD project, Worship With Me" 2009 along with a music video, "Without You," and "Yvonne Cobbs-Bey Christmas Favorites Single" 2009. 2012 Keep your eyes open for Yvonne's (5th) project.
