Yvonne Cobbs-Bey
Yvonne Cobbs-Bey, BSN, MSN is an active and consistent force guiding the Youth Ministry, Health Ministry and Directing the Choirs of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A. L. Cobbs, Sr. Yvonne has found her calling in the ministries of medicine and music and lives the life accordingly.
In 2007, Yvonne joined Lorraine Hansberry Theater, SF as Musical Director and performing artist in Black Nativity. This was her six season participating in Lorraine Hansberry’s production of Black Nativity. Yvonne brought dedication and a determination for excellence that was equaled only by her devotion to Christ and gospel music.
Yvonne holds the 1999 Director of the Year Award, and has been featured as singer and songwriter on many productions spanning a decade. Among her many accomplishments in 2007; Yvonne was nominated by the En Sound Music Awards for Best Traditional Gospel Performance; Disc Makers’ Independent Music World Series selected Yvonne as one of the top 15 artists out of 1,300 bands and artist on the West Coast. Yvonne was selected by BET’s on-line community and did participate in BET’s Sunday Best reality television show, and listeners on American Idol Underground have rated Yvonne’s songs among the top 50 tracks in the Faith-Based genre for the last six months.
Furthermore, Yvonne has been recognized by Who’s Who in Nursing; for her credentials, professionalism and career expertise in Psychiatric Nursing and General Medicine.
In 2008 Yvonne has launched the Healthy Living Foundation Concert Series, which combines music and health. www.beydazl.com/healthyliving
